Bringing applications and machines together was once again key at Screen's in-house event, Widescreen 2011, where the company had teamed up with a diverse range of complementary suppliers. I meant to drop in only for a few hours but ended up spending the whole day in the showroom, which gave me the chance to see the Truepress Jet2500UV again and, also, learn about the partnership with Roland and the VersaUV LEJ-640.

Screen's Widescreen days are informative and informal and, unlike a conventional exhibition environment, there's plenty of time to talk to people and look at the specifics of the machines and the materials.

This year the event was supported by Lintec Graphic Films, BioMedia, Contra Vision, Neschen, DPLenticular and Dufaylite, all demonstrating diversity of applications. There was also a golden opportunity to have a close look at the Miller Weldmaster T300 Extreme from Solent Sewing and Welding which was busy hot air welding materials.

Widescreen 2011 succeeded in targeting visitors from different sectors who want an in-depth idea of what wide-format printing can do for them, from job set-up and management, through to production to finishing. The team at Screen puts on an excellent show.
