UK-based Willsons Printers has invested in a new Horizon StitchLiner 5500 for 'reduced print runs and faster turnaround times' in post-press services, supplier Intelligent Finishing Systems states.

The StitchLiner 5500 is part of Horizon's booklet production line range and includes a colour touchscreen for rapid automatic job set-ups. The machine also features job storage and recall and runs at production speeds up to 5,500bph in standard mode and 11,000bph in two-up mode.

"We generally expect to get a five-year return on investment but with the StitchLiner this is likely to be just three years. This is partly due to the fact we can quote for much shorter runs because we know we can turn it around much faster," says Andy Storey, sales director, Willsons Printers. "We can now look to offer a wider range of products to our customers which enables us to add more value to our service."

Willsons Printers operates three sites in Grimsby, Nottingham and Newark.
