Jun 26 2013 15:02:07 , 2843
Durst, the specialist for industrial inkjet applications continues its expansion in the major ceramics markets. After establishing sales- and service locations in South America, India and the Asian-Pacific region, Durst has now successfully entered the Chinese ceramics market. For the past years, China has been the world's largest producer of tiles, with an estimated annual production of 10 billion sqm. The production has nearly doubled in the past 5 years and the producers' focus has shifted to include digital production methods. In 2013, Durst founded a sales company in cooperation with C. ILLIES TRADING Co. Ltd., a well-established trade partner in China, with sales- and service locations in the major tile producing regions of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Qingdao and Peking. At this year's Ceramics China (29. May. - 01. June) in Guangzhou, the two partners presented the Durst Gamma Inkjet-printer portfolio to the Chinese market. 80,000 sqm of exhibition space make the Ceramics China the largest industrial ceramics trade fair in Asia, while visitors from more than 70 countries underline the importance of this event. This year's highlight, the evolution of the inkjet technology, was presented with the motto ′Change, Innovation, Advancement' to offer an alternative business model and therefore a solution to a slowing global economy and its effects on the global ceramics industry.

′The implementation of the inkjet technology is at different levels in the various global markets, ' says Christoph Gamper, CEO of Durst Phototechnik AG. ′ The strong focus and the rising demands regarding quality and especially flexibility is our motivation to invest in digital production facilities in China. We received great feedback for our print quality and industrial production capacity at the trade fair. The Gamma 120 HD-RS enables Durst to provide the market-desired solution for tiles sized 80 x 80 cm. With Illies we have a highly professional and motivated partner at our side to successfully establish the Durst inkjet technology in China.'

Since 2005, Durst has been the leading producer of digital print machines for the decoration of ceramic surfaces. Durst has played a pivotal role in the digitalization of print- and production processes with the continuous development of its inkjet technology. The extensive product portfolio and the scalability of its systems have made Durst the producer with the largest installation base. With the Gamma 120 HD-RS, Durst presents a printer for the digital decoration of tiles with a size of up to 100 x 150 cm (after curing). The Gamma 120 HD-RS features the reliable proprietary Durst High Definition Contone Greyscale Technology, superior to all other existing technologies in matters of quality and productivity. This technology provides highest image quality without the need to reduce resolution at a higher pass speed or a more intense ink application and without the need to install two printhead rows for each color.
