EFI has added integration with v6 of Kodak's Prinergy workflow platform into its Fiery digital front end as it looks to provide a 'winning integrated solution' for both offset and digital printing.

Among the features added to EFI Fiery as a result of Priergy v6 integration is accurate media information for tray contents on digital engines, JDF-certified workflow with automated job intent data communication and the ability to integrate machines from multiple production print manufacturers without switching between workflows.

"The EFI Fiery digital front end gives graphic arts professionals the freedom to make important choices that can drive the success of their printing operation," suggests John Henze, vice-president of EFI Fiery marketing. "By integrating Fiery with Prinergy workflow v6, Prinergy users can not only create a single workflow management system for offset and digital printing, but can also connect to a broader range of digital printers from all leading digital printer manufacturers."

EFI Fiery allows users to automate printing operations when estimating, scheduling, job ticketing and accounting, with full integration with other EFI MIS and ERP products, including Pace and Monarch. Fiery also includes a drag-and-drop system for queue management, job previewing and editing, as well as makeready.
