Epson adds fast processing, dual roll and MFP options in T-series revamp for AEC, CAD and GIS markets

The Epson T-series will début next week at Sign and Digital UK

In line with its ambition to 'double its range by 2016', Epson has revamped its T-series range for the CAD, GIS and AEC production markets, available in widths of 0.6, 0.91 and 1.11m (24, 36 and 44") with varying functionality.

The Energy Star-certified four-colour machines can produce onto coated and uncoated media and are also able to throughput rigid boards. Of particular significance is increased image processing capacity, with 16GB of on-board RAM, plus optional dual 1.6Ghz CPUs and a 320GB hard drive to improve caching and job recall. Each incorporates Epson's PrecisionCore TFP print-heads, with UltraChrome XD aqueous inks available in 110, 350 and 700ml cartridge sizes.

The 0.91m T5200 and 1.11m T7200 are each available as dual-roll machines with automatic media loading and switching, and also as MFPs with an integrated scanner, making them the first Epson engines to sport such a device. The manufacturer claims that an A1 graphic can be scanned and printed 'in about 39 seconds'. The T3200, meanwhile, completes the group as an entry-level 0.6m device.

Epson adds that the UltraChrome ink set's blacks have been enhanced for technical images, as well as the 'vibrant colours' needed for posters and other indoor graphics applications.

The T5200D dual roll machine, without multi-function capability, can be viewed on Epson's stand, H10, next week at Sign and Digital UK.
