The Indigo 20000 prioritises colour and quality

HP will display its range of systems for folding carton, labels and flexible and corrugatedpackaging applications at Interpack 2014 as it looks to demonstrate the benefits of digital printing in the sector.

The company's stand will display the 0.7m (30") web-fed Indigo 20000 model and the 0.7m (29.5") sheet-fed Indigo 30000. The 20000 engine is designed for packaging applications such as labels, sleeves and flexible packaging and is capable of gravure-matching print quality printing on 10 micron films. The Indigo 30000 is a sheet-fed printer designed for folding cartons and supports any off the shelf paperboard up to 600 microns.

The seven-colour narrow-web HP Indigo WS6600 will also be on display. Capable of printing 40 linear metres (131 linear feet) per minute in full colour on substrates between 12 and 450 microns, it features an in-line priming unit allowing any off the shelf media to be processed.

HP Scitex products for short-run, high quality corrugated packaging and displays will also be demonstrated at the stand as a digital alternative to litho. The Sctiex range is designed to address a demand for high quality, shorter runs and fast turnarounds in the flexo and offsetconverting market.
