California-based Printer Switches from Offset Press and Traditional Toner to UV Inkjet Technology

Ramsey – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) is pleased to offer customers the latest technology to help grow their businesses. For ChromaGraphics, a second-generation commercial printing organization that produces a great deal of work for wineries in and around Sonoma County, CA, the switch to UV inkjet technology enabled them to win new customers and new business from existing customers, due to the combination of versatility in choice of paper stocks, cost and speed.

“At ChromaGraphics, we strive to be flexible to our clients’ needs versus our processes and procedures. We needed high quality print for both short and medium run lengths on virtually any substrate that can be printed offset, with lower costs than toner and offset,” said Eric Janssen, President, ChromaGraphics. “As our partner, Konica Minolta helped accurately identify cost saving opportunities, proved a solution, and delivered what was promised.”

Added Ben Tabai, Director of Operations, ChromaGraphics, “Adding the AccurioJet KM-1 has allowed us to increase our quality and efficiency, decrease our waste and maintain our position as a leader in the industry.”

ChromaGraphics, who previously faced challenges in matching custom colors for product photos and spot colors, found the AccurioJet KM-1 delivers exceptional color consistency and a larger gamut for matching process and spot colors. For their customers, it means no longer being limited to longer runs for “offset quality,” quicker turnaround and an extremely broad selection of substrates. And from an environmental standpoint, installation of the KM-1 significantly reduced makeready waste from offset and finishing bindery.

“Konica Minolta is proud to partner with ChromaGraphics, a leader in the printing industry,” said Bill Troxil, Senior Vice President, Strategic Business Development, Konica Minolta. “Their decision to invest in the AccurioJet KM-1 Jet Press demonstrates that they are confident that UV ink technology is the way of the future and will provide their customers with the highest quality and a wider array of substrates to serve their customers’ needs.”

The AccurioJet KM-1 UV Inkjet Press has established itself as a leader across all segments of the North American Marketplace, supported by the record number of installations in 2018.
